Survey Results: 2017 Nonprofit Photo Use Survey

In an effort to help nonprofit organizations find solutions to visual communications problems, in March of this year Blue Earth Alliance launched an online survey of these organizations. We sent survey invitations to a list of 400 staff members at 350 organizations.Our purpose was to collect data that would help us better understand the challenges and opportunities facing organizations that depend upon current, compelling images to tell their stories.

PhotoWings

Our mission is to highlight and help facilitate the power of photography to influence the world. We help photography to be better understood, created, utilized, seen, and saved. In partnership with Blue Earth Alliance we video recorded the presentations, panel discussions and interviews of the many great photographers, editors, and industry leaders who participated in Collaborations for Cause the past few years.

Earth Island Institute

Organization providing assistance for start-up environmental projects, giving crucial assistance to groups and individuals with new ideas for promoting ecological sustainability.

Rainforest Action Network

Based in San Francisco, CA and in Tokyo, Japan, the organization supports immediate action to defend threatened environments and campaigns to align the policies of multinational corporations with widespread public support for environmental protection.

Amnesty International

Founded in 1961, the organization works to defend human rights across the globe through public education, demonstrations, lobbying and reporting on human rights abuses.

Imagely Fund

Fund offers $5,000 grants to non-professional photographers to undertake important humanitarian and environmental photography projects. (Formerly the Photocrati Fund)
