Michael Hanson

Biography

Michael Hanson is an award-winning photojournalist based in Seattle, WA and was named PDN30 in 2013. His images have been published in Outside, Patagonia, The New York Times, Smithsonian, among others. He was recognized as one of the World’s Top Travel Photographers by American Photo.

In 2009, he joined National Geographic Creative and has worked on numerous conservation-based stories including a documentary film, Who Owns Water, and a coffee table book, Breaking Through Concrete. His fine art work from Ethiopia is part of the Sir Elton John Permanent Collection.
